Species protection
We ensure that our manufacturers strictly comply with international species protection guidelines and, for leather goods, with CITES regulations (www.cites.org).
No leather is sourced from wild animals, and no down is obtained through live plucking. All materials come exclusively from strictly controlled and responsibly managed farms.

Sustainability strategy:
- A dedicated team develops our sustainability strategy, implements initiatives and programs, and responds to requests from external stakeholders.
- Our sustainability team in the Westwing Shop is responsible for the sustainability of the Westwing Collection as well as other manufacturers' products, and drives sustainability in our supply chains.
Environmental protection at Westwing:
- We reduce the environmental impact of our packaging by eliminating single-use plastic, reducing the use of virgin materials as packaging or filling material, and ensuring the recyclability of materials.
- We increase the proportion of responsibly sourced materials, such as certified sustainable wood, and work closely with suppliers to minimise their environmental impact.
Climate protection at Westwing:
- Westwing's carbon footprint includes operational emissions such as electricity consumption and heating in offices and warehouses, as well as indirect emissions from packaging and logistics.
- We calculate our emissions and continually look for ways to reduce and offset them.
Our commitment to sustainable trade:
- We monitor the social audits of our Westwing Collection suppliers to create fair working standards.
- We promote transparency and label products online as sustainable (for example, as having GOTS , FSC , BCI , or Nordic Swan certificates).
- A sustainability filter in the Westwing supports you in making more sustainable purchasing decisions.
We only work with suppliers who have been audited by third parties (BSCI, SMETA , SA8000) with regard to social and ecological aspects and strategically source sustainable raw materials.
